The Intuos5 is a great product! Just based on 2 weeks of use, I would caution users to expect faster standard pen tip wear vs the Intuos3. I still haven’t set many of the shortcut buttons, but I am glad I made this purchase. It speeds production time for photo editing, design and art creation. However, there are certain things that aren’t functioning the way I’d hoped.

I still haven’t set many of the shortcut buttons, but I am glad I made this purchase. I’m getting used to it now and I love it. Sometimes I have to move the cursor a bit and then tap again to get it to register a click.
The touch is not sensitive enough, particularly when trying to click. I use a cintique at work, have had every size tablet, and have to say that for my home setup, this tablet is amazing. This tablet lives up to the name and quality you expect from Wacom.
That is the only reason this didn’t get 5 stars!!
How do the Intuos5 specifications compare with Intuos4?
There is a learning curve when coming from a mouse as there is with all pen tablets. I end up using the keyboard whenever possible because the result is immediate and therefore more efficient than trying multiple times to get the touch to do what I want. I originally purchased a medium tablet but felt it wasn’t quite big enough.
Deceided to upgrade to a large version and found out version 5 was available. The tablet shape and surface are engineered to enable ergonomic, consistent strokes, even over long periods of time. This tablet is amazing.
Plus, the finger-sensitive Touch Ring provides intuitive control of scrolling, zooming, brush size, canvas rotation and layer selection.

I had wanted to purchase the cintiq but the pricing was too steep. Its programmable ExpressKeys allow you to activate time-saving shortcuts and modifiers in each of your applications.
